Date and Place of Birth: 25th December 1902, Swindon, Wiltshire

Family: Frederick Anderson's middle name is Christie and not John as given in many books. This is confirmed on his birth certificate and in the London Gazette as well as in his own signature on the attendance sheet at a VC/GC Association dinner.

Father was an Inspector of the Heart of Oak Friendly Society

Early Life: Attended Aberdare County School, Glamorgan. Enlisted Jan 1918.
