Early Life: H J Miller enlisted in the Royal Navy c.1918

Date and Place of GC Action: 29th April 1940, North Sea

The London Gazette: 16th August 1940

Citation: A.B. Henry James Miller was "posthumously awarded the Medal of the Military Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for gallantry in one of H.M. Submarines." This award was exchanged for the George Cross by the terms of the institution of that award in September, 1940
